When am I a bachelor with a legal right of admission to the programme?
You are a bachelor with legal right of admission to the programme if you
- have completed your bachelor’s programme in Actuarial Mathematics at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH)
- apply before the deadline for applications for the 4th summer intake after you have completed your bachelor’s programme at the latest.
Please note that the deadline for applications is typically before you have completed your bachelor’s programme if you want to start your studies in connection with the next intake.
The next intake is for study start in February (winter intake) if you complete your bachelor’s programme during block 1 or 2.
You maintain your legal right of admission if you
- accept a place on another MSc programme than the one you have reserved access to, and do not complete this MSc programme
- apply for admission within the deadline (see criteria above)
- decline the offer of admission to your reserved access.
You use your legal right of admission when you
- accept your offer of admission to the MSc programme where you have reserved access.
You lose your legal right of admission to the programme if you
- apply after the deadline for applications for the 4th summer intake - however, you may still apply for admission as you meet the admission requirements
- complete another MSc programme.
If you have completed your bachelor’s programme before 1 January 2020, you no longer have reserved access. You may still apply for admission, as you meet the admission requirements.

Apply for an unfilled place in post-application period
If you did not apply for admission before 1 March, and if there are unfilled places on the study programme, you can apply for any unfilled places in the post-application period.

When you apply in the post-application period, you are not guaranteed a place. Your application may be rejected if all places on the study programme have been filled.

Apply for an unfilled place in post-application period
If you did not apply for admission before 15 October, and if there are unfilled places on the study programme, you can apply for any unfilled places in the post-application period.

Submit application deadline: 1 January 23:59 CET
When you apply in the post-application period, you are not guaranteed a place. Your application may be rejected if all places on the study programme have been filled.
How to apply
As a bachelor with reserved access to the programme, you are guaranteed a place if you apply within the normal application deadlines.
You need to create an application in the application portal. This is the only way to apply for admission - even if you already received a dispensation to complete courses for your MSc programme before you finish your bachelor's degree.
Get your documentation through data exchange
If you have completed or expect to complete your bachelor’s degree with reserved access, you do not need to upload other documentation than your transcript and/or your national ID. You can authorize automatic data exchange to collect data from your educational background at UCPH.
To the best of our knowledge, we will let you know if anything is missing. We will send you a message in the application portal.
Copy or scan of passport/national ID
You must upload a copy or scan of your valid passport or national ID.
If you do not have a passport or a national ID, you must upload a statement of when you expect to receive it. A driver's license is not sufficient and will not be accepted.
The identification document must be in English, Danish, Swedish or Norwegian and include:
- Photo
- Your full name
- Date of birth
- Nationality
- Expiration date
Deadline to upload your copy or scan of passport or national ID: 1 September
You are obliged to inform us of former master’s courses/programmes
You must upload documentation if you have completed courses or exams from an unfinished MSc programme. We use the documentation to assess whether you are eligible for a mandatory credit transfer.
You are also obligated to inform us whether you have completed an MSc Programme. Read more about the master’s degree admission rule.
If it turns out that you have used falsified or otherwise misleading documentation in your application, we are obliged to report this to the police and cancel your admission.
You can submit 3 applications for UCPH
Please note that you are only allowed to submit a maximum of 3 applications to study programs across all faculties at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH) for the same intake.
Any additional applications will be cancelled by the MSc admission office.
Keep track of your application
Once you have applied for admission, you will receive updates and messages from us in the application portal. When you receive a message in the application portal, a notification will be sent to the email you have registered in your application. Please note that emails may end up in your spam filter.
We recommend that you do not use your student email when creating your application as some universities terminate student accounts once a student has completed their degree.

Study start in September (summer intake)
We will be offering admission ongoing from 1 May until 10 June, so it is important that you check the application portal regularly during this period.
You must actively accept the offer in the application portal no later than 15 June, at the latest.
If you apply for an unfilled place in the post-application period, you will receive a reply no later than 1 July, but it can be sooner.
Please be sure to check the application portal regularly as you must accept within 5 days of receiving the offer of admission.

You must accept the place
If you fail to meet the deadline (as stated in your letter of acceptance), you will lose your place on the study programme. It is important that you check the status of your application regularly via the application portal.
Check your email regularly
When you receive a message in the application portal, a notification will be sent to the email you have registered in your application. Please note that emails from the application portal may end up in your spam filter.
Your start at the MSc programme
We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to the master's programme.
Before courses start in September, we have made an online part of your study start. Here you will find an overview of activities and begin the first part of your introduction to your MSc with our online course.
The welcome programme at your MSc will take place 26 – 30 August – the week before your courses start. Here you will meet your new fellow students and get introductions to your MSc programme.
We will send you all information concerning your study start to the email you have used in the application portal.
From May to August, we will be sending welcome letters with access to our online course, which prepares you to start your new MSc programme and register for courses. You will also hear from us when you can register for welcome days at your programme.
You must register for courses in the same way as you did during your bachelor's.
To be sure to get a place on the courses, you need to register in the ordinary registration period.
You can use the late-registration period to change your course registrations.
You will receive further information on how and when to register for courses, when you are admitted.

When you apply for admission to a master’s programme, you need to reapply for a state education grant. Read more about state education grants on www.su.dk.
We offer help and support if you have special needs due to a functional impairment or disability (e.g. dyslexia or a physical or mental diagnose) during your studies. For instance, you can apply for special aids, IT equipment and support classes.
